10 Reasons to have an outdoor wedding

When deciding when and where to have your wedding there are so many variables to consider. Where do you even begin? I thought I would write up a list of items and reasons to have your wedding outdoors.

1. TOTAL CONTROL OF THE SPACE

With an outdoor wedding you have complete control over how things are arranged. You can create separate areas and spaces depending on the layout of the evening. You can be creative and have cocktail hour under some large trees in the lawn or use a patio for the ceremony.

2. FREEDOM TO SELECT ANY DATE

With popular venues if you don’t book far enough in advance you may not get the date you had in mind. If you have it outdoors this won’t be a problem. However, be sure to book your tent and other rentals far enough in advance.

3. PLAY OUTDOOR GAMES AND HAVE FUN

Being outdoors gives you enough space to play fun games. Add some fun and excitement to your reception with games and activities to keep guests fully entertained all night.

4. LIMITED RULES

Because you are having it outdoors and not in a venue you won’t have strict rules to follow. Be sure to check with landowners and city rules. Most towns have a noise ordinance so be sure to check into that for the music late into the night.

5. PICK ANY DECOR OR STYLE

The outdoors is great for any style you may have. From simple and classic to rustic. White party tents are great blank canvas to decorate however you would like. Be mindful to consider lighting throughout the night as well. Be creative and string light over areas to make a defined space.

6. CHOOSE ANY VENDOR

The freedom is yours! Choose your favorite vendors. With an outdoor wedding you can have any style food you want. You can have your favorite bartenders. You won’t be stuck using the venues restaurant or bartenders. Incorporate some fun elements like a photo booth or go completely crazy and get an ice cream truck for dessert!

7. FAMILY & FRIENDS CAN BE INVOLVED

Calling all crafty friends and family. With an outdoor wedding there will be more set up involved. So, call the people closest to help. People will like that they were part of the big day. DIY as much as you want!!

8. NO LIMIT TO SPACE

Have a huge family? No problem with outdoor weddings there is no limit to space. Tent companies should have tents large enough for 300 guests. Check with them if they don’t you can always have multiple tents.

9. BEAUTIFUL BACKDROP

The best part is the photos. Choosing outdoors will give you a beautiful backdrop. Those stunning sunset views and stars upon your exit for the evening.
